1. Set up Users & Assign Their Permissions
Once you’ve signed into your Zeck account, you’ll want to start by setting up additional Users from your team and get your Viewers in the system and ready to be assigned to your first Zeck.
Navigate to the People page (on your Homepage) where you’ll invite people to Zeck. When adding new Users, just remember that the default settings will send each email address a notification to set up a profile to sign in directly to Zeck. If you’d like to skip this notification (people often skip the password step for board members and investors) just check the box to not send an email notification
For more on adding people to Zeck and assigning their permissions:
📋 Quick Task List:
☑️ Add the team to Zeck (default is Member but you can upgrade to Admin
☑️ Add your board members to Zeck (don't forget to check that box)
☑️ Toggle on all voting members of your board as Board Director on the People page
☑️ Add your team members as Contributors to their Sections in your first Zeck
2. Create Your First Zeck
To create your first Zeck, you can either Duplicate the template that we added to your account or Create a New Zeck.
To Duplicate an existing Zeck, hover over that Zeck tile on your Homepage and then click the Three Dots and choose Duplicate from the menu. This will create a copy for you to work in. You can click the Three Dots on the copy to Rename the new Zeck.
To start with a blank slate, click Create a New Zeck in the upper right corner of your Homepage and give the Zeck a name. This will get you started with one sample Section and you can build out the content from there.
⭐️ Pro tip: going forward, it’ll be easiest to duplicate your last Zeck as the basis for your next one. You’ll even be able to carry over the Contributor and Viewer permissions that you’ve already assigned. It’ll also carry over linked data to sync and update.

3. Bring in Your Data & Use AI
The ideal workflow when creating content in your Zeck Section(s) looks something like this…
-
Bring in relevant data using the Google Sheets or Excel Integrations
-
If you’ve got visual data (perhaps an infographic or a chart) add that in as an Image
-
Add a quick brain dump of text to the section to add additional color, context and information to the data
-
Use the Zeck AI to Optimize Section Content
This will reorganize everything into our best practice Framework (a What You Need to Know list, Highlight, Lowlights, Key Initiatives, What’s Keeping Me Up At Night, and Key Takeaways for your reports). It’ll also do all the heavy lifting by analyzing all of your data. From here you can edit away but the AI will jump start the Section so you spend way less time preparing your Zeck content.
⭐️ Pro tip: Don’t forget to delete the initial input at the bottom of your Section below the divider line.

-
Create an Agenda Section, add an Agenda block from the element menu, and then start populating with topics from your Table of Contents
-
Add Vote blocks to an Voting section and then fill in the relevant vote details and link to supporting documentation
-
Don’t forget to designate your Board Directors on the People page so they can Pre-Vote
-
-

-
Once you’ve generated Minutes they can be signed and approved right in Zeck
-
That’s it. Governance made easy. Your attorney and board secretary will thank you.
⭐️ Pro Tip: You can designate one of your Users as a Legal Admin on the People page. This will give them full access to the Minutes Book to generate Minutes but you’ll still be able to assign them Contributor and Viewer permissions elsewhere in the account.

-
(If you haven’t already) Add your Viewers email address on the People page.
-
🚨 Make sure to check the box to skip email invitations if you’re like to use our passwordless system.
-
-
Add Viewers to your Zeck by clicking the three dots at the top of the section navigation panel, then click Manage Viewers
-
Toggle on your Viewers
-
Click Viewer Access Requests and check the box to allow potential viewers to request access if the email they input doesn’t match one that you’ve given access to
-
-
Publish the Zeck
-
Click the 🔗 Link icon to copy the URL to the Published Zeck and email it to your Viewers
-
(Bonus: once you share it, come back to the Zeck, click those same three dots and click on Analytics to see who’s done what)

So, you can keep making changes in the Editor and just click Publish Changes when you’re ready to push those through to the Published Site. No need to share a new link.

-
Click the three dots on the Zeck tile you’d like to Duplicate
-
Click those same three dots on the copy and then click Rename
-
Jump into your Investor Update Zeck and remove anything you don’t want to share with your investors.
-
Publish, Share, make an espresso. You’re done.
If you want to really get the most out of your efforts, you can also duplicate your board meeting or investor update Zeck, remove a bit more, add some fun team stuff and now you’ve got an All Hands Zeck.

So Much Fun
🎉 You’ve made it through creating and sharing your first Zeck. I bet your team thinks you’re a genius and your board members already wrote their grandmothers to tell them how amazing the meeting was. How does it feel?
Just for fun, if you can tell us what movie this quote is from, we’ll send you a slightly better than mediocre gift. What a day.
"That's so funny. The last time I heard that I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur."
