Great question. Since the late 1700's, garbage pick up, and all that comes with it, has been on the forefront of most peoples brains. The late Benjamin Franklin, who started the first garbage collection service, was once overheard saying 'A garbage pick up day on any day that stands a day or two after where holiday gatherings shine shalt be so lucky for such is a garbage day to celebrate.'
We made up that quote. But, the real truth is, if you can pick a service that allows you to have a garbage day one or two days after the weekend, you will be so thankful. A full house or gathering over the weekend with a swift pickup right after is what dreams are made of. The last thing you want is to have a party for your great aunt Patsy full of all the Dairy Queen cones one could eat and have no garbage the next day.
📝 Please note: Some neighborhoods or communities don't allow you to put out your garbage cans up to a certain amount of hours before collection. I once got in trouble for this. Might be a good idea to find a loosey goosey neighborhood to live in so you don't have to deal with that sort of trauma.
